Rubik is a sans-serif font family designed for Google Fonts that supports multiple languages. It is characterized by slightly rounded corners and friendly letter shapes.
The Arabic character set is based on the Naskh Calligraphic style, featuring very subtle features in contrast distribution, stroke behavior, and proportions. The matching features with the other writing systems in the typeface are primarily achieved without compromising the authenticity of the Arabic script, as minimal changes have been made to its construction and proportions.
The Arabic was designed by Omaima Dajani and Daniel Grumer (Fontef type foundry).
The Latin component was designed by Philipp Hubert and Sebastian Fischer at Hubert & Fischer as part of the Chrome Cube Lab project.
Meir Sadan redesigned the Hebrew component in 2015, while Alexei Vanyashin redesigned the Cyrillic component in 2016.
