A lettering piece with the phrase, "Ya sit Eldonya ya Beirut" from a song by Lebanese singer Majida ElRumi.
With this lettering piece, I wanted to convey the beauty of Beirut as we remember it as "Paris of the East" versus what it is like today. The words are laid out in such a way as to create an illusion of destruction, inspired by the view of the city after the explosion of 2020, and in reference to the destruction as a result of the Lebanese government's politics in the economy, educational system, and so forth.
This piece was donated to Beirut Editions, and its purchases were donated to support the reconstruction efforts following the explosion.
